Capital Packers began in 1929 as a small, family-run abattoir in Edmonton, Alberta on the very land the facility sits on today. Its creation and intended purpose was to provide local, fresh, high quality meats to the family-run grocery store: Western Groceries & Meat Market.
Throughout the years, our facility has undergone multiple expansions and as a result, we've outgrown our grocery store counterpart. By providing the highest level of quality and care to all that we produce, we've been able to supply families across Western Canada with some of the finest smoked, cured, and fresh meats on the market.
Our company is still family owned and operated to this day, combining the expertise of its 3rd and 4th generations of family. Our facility is federally inspected, SQF certified, HACCP recognized, and proudly employs over 100 skilled workers that share our values of integrity, quality, fairness, and pride in all that we do.
Many of our products can be found at retail stores in Western Canada such as: Sobeys, Safeway, Real Canadian Superstore, Save-on-Foods, Co-op, Freson Bros., Wholesale Club, No Frills, Extra Foods, Super A, & Italian Center Shop to name a few.
